Choosing the Right Battery
Which SOK battery is best for an RV or camper?
The right RV lithium battery depends on your system voltage, daily energy use, inverter size and available installation space. SOK offers 12V and 24V LiFePO4 batteries for motorhomes and campers. Explore our RV & Camper Batteries or Compare Batteries.
Which SOK battery is suitable for marine use?
For boats and yachts, consider capacity, discharge current, waterproofing and system communication. Selected SOK marine LiFePO4 batteries offer IP-rated protection, Bluetooth, self-heating and Victron CAN communication. Explore our Marine Battery solutions to compare suitable models.
Should I choose a 12V, 24V or 48V LiFePO4 battery?
Choose the battery voltage to match your electrical system. 12V is common for RV and marine systems, 24V suits higher-power installations, while 48V LiFePO4 batteries are widely used for solar and energy storage. Compare SOK Batteries before choosing.
How much battery capacity do I need?
Battery capacity depends on your daily power consumption and desired runtime. For example, appliances, inverter loads and charging sources all affect the required Ah or kWh capacity. Calculate your expected daily energy use first, then compare suitable SOK battery models in our Battery Comparison.
Which SOK batteries support Victron communication?
Selected SOK models support CAN communication with compatible Victron systems, including certain 12V, 24V and 48V batteries. Communication support is model-specific, so always check the product specifications before ordering. Technical documents are available in our Technical Resources.
What is the difference between SOK battery models?
SOK batteries differ in voltage, capacity, BMS current, self-heating, Bluetooth, CAN communication, enclosure design and IP protection. The best model depends on your application rather than capacity alone. Use our Compare SOK Batteries page for a quick overview.
Product & Technical Information
What is a LiFePO4 battery?
LiFePO4, or lithium iron phosphate, is a lithium battery chemistry known for long cycle life, stable performance and lower weight than traditional lead-acid batteries. It is widely used in RV, marine, solar and off-grid energy systems.
How long do SOK LiFePO4 batteries last?
Cycle life varies by model, operating temperature, depth of discharge and charging conditions. SOK LiFePO4 batteries are designed for long-term use and typically offer thousands of charge cycles. Always check the individual product page for the model-specific cycle-life rating.
Do SOK batteries have Bluetooth?
Many SOK lithium batteries include a smart Bluetooth BMS, allowing users to view battery information such as state of charge, voltage, current and temperature from a compatible app. Bluetooth availability varies by model, so check the individual product specifications before purchase.
How does the self-heating function work?
Selected SOK LiFePO4 batteries include built-in self-heating for cold-weather charging. When charging temperatures are too low, the heating system warms the cells before normal charging begins. Operation varies by model, so refer to the Technical Resources for specific instructions.
Can SOK batteries be connected in series or parallel?
Selected SOK batteries support series, parallel or both configurations. The permitted number of batteries depends on the model and BMS design. Always use batteries of the same model and follow the specified connection limits in the product manual or Technical Resources.
What are CAN and RS485 communication?
CAN and RS485 allow a smart lithium battery BMS to exchange operating data with compatible inverters, chargers or monitoring systems. Selected SOK batteries support these communication protocols, including Victron-compatible models. Protocol documents can be found in Technical Resources.
Are SOK batteries waterproof?
Water and dust protection varies by model. Selected SOK batteries offer an IP67-rated enclosure, making them suitable for demanding marine, RV and outdoor installations. Do not assume every SOK battery is waterproof; always check the IP rating on the individual product page.
Can the BMS or battery components be replaced?
Serviceability is a key feature of many SOK batteries. Depending on the model, the enclosure allows access to components such as the BMS or cells for inspection or replacement. Repairs should follow SOK guidance to maintain battery safety and warranty coverage.
Installation & Compatibility
Are SOK batteries compatible with Victron?
Selected SOK LiFePO4 batteries support CAN communication with compatible Victron systems, including Cerbo GX-based installations. Compatibility depends on the specific battery model and system configuration. Check the relevant product manual and CAN protocol in Technical Resources before installation.
What charger should I use for a SOK LiFePO4 battery?
Use a charger with a LiFePO4 charging profile and suitable voltage and current for your battery model. Charging settings differ between 12V, 24V and 48V systems. Refer to the product manual in Technical Resources for recommended charging parameters.
Can I charge a SOK battery from an alternator?
Yes, SOK batteries can be used in alternator-charging systems when the charging equipment is correctly designed for LiFePO4 batteries. A suitable DC-DC charger is commonly recommended for RV and marine installations to regulate charging voltage and protect the alternator.
Can SOK batteries be used with solar panels?
Yes. SOK LiFePO4 batteries are suitable for solar and off-grid energy storage when used with a compatible solar charge controller or inverter/charger. Make sure the charging profile and voltage settings match your battery. Explore our Solar & Off-Grid solutions for suitable models.
Do I need a fuse when installing a lithium battery?
A correctly sized fuse or circuit protection device is strongly recommended in lithium battery installations. Fuse size depends on the battery, cable size, inverter load and system design. Always follow the product manual and applicable electrical standards when designing your system.
Can I mix different SOK battery models?
We generally recommend using the same battery model, capacity and specification within one battery bank. Mixing different generations, capacities or BMS designs can lead to uneven charging and discharging. Contact SOK Technical Support if you are expanding an existing system.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
How long does SOK battery delivery take in Europe?
In-stock orders are usually processed within 24 hours after payment confirmation. Standard delivery within the EU normally takes around 3β7 business days, while remote destinations may take 5β10 business days. Pre-order delivery times depend on the product arrival schedule.
Is shipping free within the EU?
Free shipping is available for most SOK products and EU destinations. Shipping conditions may vary for oversized products, remote areas or destinations outside the EU. Please review our Shipping & Delivery Policy before ordering.
Do I need to pay customs duties within the EU?
Orders shipped from our Germany warehouse to EU destinations normally do not require customers to handle import customs clearance. For non-EU European destinations such as the UK, Norway or Switzerland, additional customs or handling charges may apply.
How can I track my order?
Once your SOK battery order has shipped, tracking information will be sent to the email address used at checkout. Delivery may be handled by carriers such as DHL, DPD, UPS, FedEx or specialist freight providers depending on the product and destination.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Contact SOK as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. If the order has not yet shipped, we will check whether changes are still possible. Pre-orders can generally be cancelled before shipment. Contact SOK Support for assistance.
Can I return a SOK battery?
EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, subject to the conditions in our Return & Refund Policy. Lithium batteries require special transport arrangements, so please contact us before returning a product. Installed, connected or used batteries may be subject to a reduction in refund value.
Warranty & Support
How long is the SOK battery warranty?
Warranty coverage depends on the battery model. Current eligible SOK models generally carry a 7-year or 10-year limited warranty. For example, SK48V100N is covered for 10 years, while several 12V and 24V models have 7-year coverage. See our Warranty Policy.
How do I register my SOK battery warranty?
After purchase, complete the Warranty Registration with your battery and purchase information. Registration helps SOK identify your product and provide more efficient warranty and technical support if assistance is required later.
