This guide helps you quickly diagnose and solve the most common issues with the SOK 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery (SK12V100H), including voltage readings, Bluetooth connection, charging issues, and storage behavior.
Why is the voltage so low when I received the battery?
When you first receive the battery, it is usually shipped in storage mode for safety reasons.
In this mode, the battery voltage may appear between 0V and 13V.
This is normal and not a defect.
What to do: Simply charge the battery once to “wake it up.” After activation, the voltage should return to around 13V+ and the battery will operate normally.
Important notes:
The charger must output DC 14V–15V
If the charging voltage is below 14V, the battery may not exit storage mode
We recommend:
Victron Bluetooth Smart Charger
SOK 12V 20A LiFePO4 Charger
2. Why can’t I find the battery via Bluetooth?
When the battery is in storage mode, Bluetooth is turned off to prevent unnecessary power consumption.
Solution: After activating the battery (see Section 1), Bluetooth will automatically turn on.
Make sure you are using the correct app: 👉 ABC-BMS App
Bluetooth sleep mode explained
The Bluetooth module enters sleep mode if the battery is not used for around 6 hours.
This is normal behavior and does not mean the battery itself is sleeping.
Bluetooth will automatically wake up when:
A load is connected (e.g. RV system)
A charger is connected
Why do we use sleep mode
This design helps reduce power consumption during long storage periods (3–5 months or more). Without sleep mode, Bluetooth could slowly drain the battery and increase the risk of over-discharge.
3. What is the normal voltage range for the SOK 12V 100Ah battery?
The normal operating voltage range is: 10V – 14.6V
Reference values:
Fully charged: 13.5V – 14.4V
Normal operating range: ~12V – 13.5V
Near empty: around 12V
⚠️ If the voltage exceeds 14.6V, please check your charger settings immediately to avoid overcharging.
How do I check battery voltage correctly?
Use a standard voltmeter:
Correct method:
Connect directly to the battery terminals (positive and negative)
Disconnect all external loads and chargers before measuring
⚠️ If the battery is still connected to a system, you may measure system voltage instead of actual battery voltage.
5. What should I do if the battery is not charging or discharging?
Follow these troubleshooting steps:
Disconnect the battery completely from the system. No cables should be attached.
Use a voltmeter to confirm: Charger output should be DC 14V–15V
Connect the charger directly to the battery terminals.
If the battery still does not charge → possible battery issue
Open the top cover and measure each cell:
2.5V – 3.6V per cell → normal, likely BMS issue
Below 2.0V per cell → cell damage
If BMS failure is suspected, please contact the SOK team for a replacement BMS

6. How should I store the battery?
For winter storage or long-term storage, we recommend:
Charge the battery to around 13.5V
Turn off all connected loads
No need to remove the battery from the system
Maintenance tip: Recharge every 3 months to maintain battery health.
7. Why do my batteries show different SOC values in the app?
When multiple batteries are connected in parallel, it is normal to see different SOC (State of Charge)Â readings in the Bluetooth app.
Important: If the voltages are the same, the batteries are actually balanced. SOC is an estimated value and may not be perfectly synchronized.
Recommendation: Perform a full charge/discharge cycle to recalibrate SOC values.
8. How do I test the battery capacity?
All SOK batteries use Grade A LiFePO4 cells.
For the SK12V100H model:
Rated capacity: 100Ah
Real measured capacity: typically around 105Ah
Cycle life: up to 6000 cycles (at 100A charge/discharge conditions)

9. How does the BMS balancing function work?
SOK batteries use a self-developed Battery Management System (BMS)Â with active balancing.
Key features:
Automatically balances cell voltage differences
Stops balancing when difference is below 20mV
Continuously improves cell consistency during use
👉 No manual balancing is required. Normal usage is sufficient.
10. Do I need to fully charge the battery before installation?
No, this is not required. Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, SOK LiFePO4 batteries can be installed and used immediately after activation
Simply charge once to wake the battery, then proceed with normal installation and use.
