Hi guys,
I might be ready to ask for tech support because I cannot charge my new SOK battery after weeks of trying. I used three different LiFePO4 chargers at our university's Solar Energy lab, but the battery is not accepting any amps due to its persistent OVERCHARGE PROTECTION STATE. The battery's charge remains at 3V, how I received it new. I had two engineering professors and the laboratory coordinator look at it- they are stumped... I also cannot reset to factory settings or override the protection state through the app. Please watch the video of one of my attempts to charge.
This no maintenance option is absolutely imperative to my processes of living! The convenience this power system provides is unmatched I don't think I can speak highly enough of what freedom these batteries have provided me with, I run four and a half to five days on the power provided by these batteries with out a chsrge, the lead acid batteries I was using before would last a day, day and a half.
aving to charge up either by driving or running the generator now my batteries are charged up just with me driving no generator required I'm not even running solar panels yet and I have plenty of power to run my 110 lights, refrigerator, microwave and any power tools required to do my job. In one van I have three SOK 206AH batteries running two inverters, a 2000 Watt PSW and a 3000 watt MSW. Second van is set up with f SOK batteries, 230vt 4000 Watt inverters. With these sok lithium ion phosphate batteries, their storage capacity, maintenance-free features, plus now with internal Bluetooth monitoring my power concerns have dropped to zero, that's even without solar on either van...solar is next
I purchased a battery and the BMS burned up and I was asked to send it back for inspection. When opening the battery I found a large glob of a glue like substance holding one of my bus bars to the cell. Now I’m expected to pay shipping back to the manufacturer to fix what never should have been shipped out. Why should a customer be responsible for shipping a battery back when it was clearly the manufacturer’s fault. Quality on the 12 volt batteries has gone down hill.
The batteries seem to work very well. We have three 206 AH in parallel on an RV, charged with 1200 Watt solar and the vehicle alternator with a DC to DC charger.
The instructions indicated a process to discharge and recharge twice to reset the monitoring. That is not easy to do unless you have a set-up to accommodate that. I think it was in a Q and A that it was not necessary and you can just start using them - which is what i did. The Bluetooth seems to work after a month or so of charge no discharge cycles.
I purchased these specifically because of their physical configuration because the footprint was smaller than most 200AH and is made up by it being taller. That worked best for my configuration.
There are always advantages and disadvantages;
For my particular set-up I think it would have been more convenient if the positive and negative posts were not in-line. I may have connected them with straight bus bars if they were offset.
I wish the case was built with a manner to secure them instead of relying only on clamping down from the top.
